YouTuber Requested 22,000 for Game Coverage

Ben Tester a developer from Wales Interactive had a rather appalling interaction with a “big” youtuber who asked for thousands of dollars to feature a game.

Tester went on to say,

“On one of my normal PR rounds I received an email from a very popular YouTuber with a few million subscribers offering to have one of our games featured on their YouTube channel for a rate of either $17,600 for 2-3 talking points or $22,000 for 2-3 talking
points AND a description link.”

“Upon reading this my jaw dropped. Is this real? Are there developers out there that pay that sort of money to have their game featured in one video?”

“The YTer did NOT mention anything about making a ‘positive’ promotion nor was this a scam from a fake YTer. Finally I’d like to state that I refused the offer.”

This is a problem area for gaming.

Why Resident Evil Origins Collection is Smart

While Capcom may be nothing more than a recycling plant when it comes to their franchises, the Resident Evil Origins Collection is probably the smarter move when it comes to getting people to actually buy the games. As a collection it’s possible more players would be inclined to try it out.

Resident Evil Origins Collection will come out for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and the release date so far is  January 22,  2016.
