Konami BAD Treatment of Employees

Konami has seen better days. First with Kojima leaving now with the odd and downright bad treatment of Konami employees have been leaked.

” it’s claimed that the computers in many departments of the company (including the former Kojima Productions, now renamed Number 8 Production Department) are not connected to the internet, in order to focus employees attentions. Email addresses for many staff are formed of random strings of letters and numbers, which are regularly reshuffled and redistributed, allegedly so as to prevent headhunting by external agencies. Lunch breaks are monitored by clocking in and out, with anyone who transgresses strict time limits being named and shamed in internal communications to other staff. Security cameras monitor corridors and public spaces to keep track of staff movements, ‘encouraging’ efficiency rather than unnecessary socialization. “

On top of that they have what appears to be employee punishment duties. Well trained specialists are being taken from their position from which they are under performing according to Konami, and redeployed as workers in Konami’s pachinko factories, as office security guards or as janitors on garbage duty at the firm’s fitness clubs.

All in all this is disturbing information and a insight into what;’going on behind the scenes of the companies who make our games.

Until Dawn Gameplay Thoughts

Supermassive Games upcoming title Until Dawn recently showed off some gameplay footage. Yes admittedly its very schlock filled an 90’s but it’s actually entertaining to watch and partake in. We did see some butterfly effects going off when a supposed important decision in the game is made that will permanently alter the outcome. Until Dawn will most likely feature multiple endings considering the many different choices the game will feature. A big factor to the games success is to the writing, environment and ambiance building, and characters depth, is important to making people care enough to play the story again.

Until Dawn is an upcoming adventure survival horror video game being developed by Supermassive Games and is going to be published by Sony  for the PlayStation 4. It was originally scheduled to be released on the PlayStation 3 and feature PlayStation Move support, but in August 2014, the game was reintroduced as a PlayStation 4 exclusive.  It is set to be released on August 25th, 2015

WWE2K16 The Terminator Pre Order Bonus Thoughts

Arnold Schwarzenegger steps in as the latest pre order bonus for WWE2K16 as The Terminator. He will return as a T-800 model from the films.

Schwarzenegger goes on to say.

“I’ve achieved many things in my life, but I’ve always said success means staying hungry and pushing the limits,” Arnie said

Schwarzenegger makes comments pertaining to the hall of fame and WWE2K16 game.

“I was honored to join the WWE Hall of Fame earlier this year, and now I’ll continue my WWE legacy with one of my biggest film roles immortalized in WWE 2K16. Match the Terminator against Stone Cold Steve Austin, Seth Rollins or Daniel Bryan, and there’s only one possible outcome: Hasta la vista, baby!”

If you haven’t seen the trailer. It’s worth your time.

Indie Game Vampyr News & Thoughts

Vampyr is a game responsible for captivating Rumandapples interest.

What we know right now is…

The player will take on the role of Jonathan E. Reid, a military surgeon that becomes a vampire when he returns home from the war.

“Absolutely all characters in the game are potential victims of your vampiric lust,” the developer teased. “Carefully study the habits of your next victim, his or her relationships with other characters, and set up your strategy to feed, unnoticed: seduce them, change their daily habits, or make sure they end up alone in a dark street.”

There most likely will be multiple endings because once you feed, and yes you have to feed, no nice rat blood drinking vamps here. Plus you require blood to attain new vampire powers.  The vampire powers also drain your health so it’s best to approach combat tactically.

Dontnod has talked about some of the crafting but has yet to go in depth. Regardless this is a game to look at to see this approach of the vampire monster.

Vampyr is set for a 2017 release on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Microsoft Xbox One: Parity Clause is Over

Phil Spencer recently talked about the Xbox One parity clause pretty much being dead in the water.

“I think so. There’s this idea that’s been named ‘parity clause,’ but there is no clause… If there’s a developer who’s building a game and they just can’t get the game done for both platforms cool. We’ll take a staggered release. We’ve done it before, and we’ll work with them on that.”

In a new interview Spencer emphasized that Microsoft does not hold timed-exclusivity deals with other platforms against developers.

“If another platform does a deal with you as a developer to build an exclusive version of your game for them, and you can’t ship on my platform for a year, when the game comes out in a year let’s just work together to make it special in some way,” he explained. “People complained about that, but you did a deal with somebody else and you got paid for it and I’m happy–we do those same deals, so I’m not knocking you. It’s going to be better for you, actually, because people don’t want last year’s game, they want something special and new.”

Lots of developers have been giving the parity clause negativity and rightfully so even if it hasn’t been enforced too heavily.
