Microsoft Elite Controller Makes No Sense

The Elite controller from Microsoft will cost $150 when it’s released in October, nearly half the price of the Xbox One console which comes with its own non-Elite controller. Even with the customization of the joysticks and paddles, one must really think if this is worth the steep price. There are already a plethora of high end gaming controllers that are tested and true. It makes sense for Xbox to do this mainly due to the company always chipping away at people’s wallets with NAME BRAND accessories and this is no different. There are also specifications to this controller as well and the app along with it.

System requirements:

For use with Xbox One systems and PCs running Windows 7 or later. PC use requires included USB cable or Wireless Adapter (available Holiday 2015). Drivers available at xbox.com/xboxone/PC-controller.
Xbox Accessories App requirements: Available on Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs.
Audio: Includes 3.5mm stereo headset jack. Also compatible with the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter and all other 1st party Xbox One controller accessories.
Haptic feedback: Features Impulse Triggers* and rumble motors. Motor control can be adjusted in the App.
Weight: 348g (+/- 15g) when using with 4 paddles, faceted D-pad, AA batteries and standard thumbsticks attached.
Connectivity: Wireless, or wired using included 9′ USB cable. Data transfers through the USB cable when connected to the controller and console/PC.
Batteries: (2) AA (included). Compatible with Xbox One Play & Charge Kit (sold separately).

Upcoming Game Vampyr is Thought Provoking

Dontnod Vampyr is looking interesting right now when it comes to concept. A little bit on the storyline here, Vampyr is set in set in an early 20th century Britain, which is thrown into chaos by a lethal Spanish Flu, and vampires that haunt the streets at night. Player will take on the role of Jonathan E. Reid, a military surgeon that becomes a vampire when he returns home from the war.

In Vampire there will be melee, shooting mechanics, and supernatural vampire abilities.

Dontnod has a few statements when it comes to what your going to do in the game.

“Absolutely all characters in the game are potential victims of your vampiric lust,” the developer said in a release. “Carefully study the habits of your next victim, his or her relationships with other characters, and set up your strategy to feed, unnoticed: seduce them, change their daily habits, or make sure they end up alone in a dark street.”

Vampyr will be published by Focus Home Interactive in 2017.

Rust Imperfect Character Models Are A Good Thing

The world we live in today has never been more image conscious. Many people in this world are bombarded by magazines, music videos, models photo shopping their bodies to make them more physically appealing (there might be a RumEtorial on this subject), video games, televisions shows, pictures, and many other forms of media and entertainment saying, if you don’t look like this you are not good enough. First off it’s a terrible conditioning of our society that only the physically appealing are the ones who are deemed worthy of praise and affection. Why is this being brought up? Because Rust has done something wonderful celebrating imperfections in their character models. This is a step in the right directions considering physical beauty is truly skin deep and fades away over time.

“We really don’t want to make the female model unrealistic in the sense of her being aesthetically idealized,” Tom Possibly Facepunch artist Thomas Butters has written. “In the same way that our male models aren’t perfect specimens of the male body, neither should the female be. No huge boobs nor four-inch waists here.”

It’s nice to see there are some companies that do understand the value of celebrating imperfection because nobody is perfect.

1 Good Thing About The New Hitman

IO Interactive studio head Hannes Seifert has said some very good things about the way the new Hitman game will be priced, explains a bit about the decision of FREE DLC and no season passes. This is a very smart move to make with many other games riddled with insulting DLC.

“There are other products that sell a game for $60 and then try to sell you a Season Pass for another $40 on top, so you spend $100 or $120 for all the stuff that happens later on. We said no, we don’t want to do that. We think it’s wrong to approach players like that because players want to be part of that experience but they don’t necessarily want to be ripped off. What we’re going to sell is all of that but it’s for a one-price package,” he stressed.

Seifert promised that there will be no extra DLC purchases, but that all Hitman owners will receive any additional content and locations released during 2016, completely free of charge.

“This is a full-fledged Hitman,” Seifert added. “Actually it’s a bigger Hitman game than ever before, it will be more than Absolution. Our biggest levels are way bigger than anything we had in Blood Money. The AI entities, we have about 300 of them when we used to have 40 or 50 in the previous games. So it’s a very big game [that] we will keep updating. It’s $60, no dollar more, no DLC or microtransactions or stuff like that. You will buy it and you will have entertainment for a few months on top.”

The new Hitman debuts on December 8th, 2015 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
