Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford has been making odd comments relating criticism of Aliens: Colonial Marines.
Pitchford claiming how he feels to those who publicly diminished his work.
“If you’re making entertainment on a grand scale, if you’re reaching millions, there will be tens of thousands of people who absolutely hate us, and some percentage of those will take it upon themselves to let us know how they feel,” Pitchford said, adding, “I read it in this way: we moved those people, we touched them – even the person who hates [your game] so much, you’ve affected them. That’s why we fight, we’re creating emotion and experience – and some people thrive on that type of feeling, some people are sadists.”
Pitchford goes into describing his sandcastle theory
“There is always the person who’s got to stand on the sand castle, they must crush it,” Pitchford said. “That’s their way of relating to that. It’s typically a less sophisticated mind. There’s a dark part of us all that likes the idea of crushing a sand castle, but most of us will respect it and let it be. That’s why we like playing video games where we can blow stuff up and no one gets hurt.”

Treyarch director Jason Blundell and lead writer Craig Houston recently talked about Call of Duty Black Ops 3 leading into announcing the voice actor cast for the newest installment of Zombies titled “Shadows of Evil”. The cast had a few words to say as well about the roles they will be playing.
Heather Graham describes her character as a burlesque dancer with dreams of stardom and she’ll do anything it takes to get what she wants.
“I’m not a very nice person.”
Neal McDonough didn’t say anything about his character except
“a pretty straightforward guy”
Robert Picardo’s talks about his character the Shadow Man, who offers to help but possibly has some more sinister motive. As Robert Picardo says
“Everything I say is unreliable.”
Treyarch director Jason Blundell and lead writer Craig Houston kicked things off by discussing the origins of Nazi zombies in the series. Jason joked “It’s a thing that shouldn’t be.” Started as an after-hours project at the studio, Zombies in Call of Duty grew out of the team’s extracurricular tinkering with the game while World at War was in development.
Leveraging the enthusiasm of the community and the legacy of zombies of Black Ops, the developers are making the story more overt in Black Ops III and revisiting Mob of the Dead. Set in the 1940s, Shadows of Evil is a heavy noir piece full of gangsters, dancers, and boxers fighting against hordes and hordes of undead.
After a quick trailer, the team at Treyarch introduced the voice cast to the crowd at Comic-Con. The game will star Heather Graham, Neal McDonough, Ron Perlman, Robert Picardo, and Jeff Goldblum.
All the characters are deeply flawed, with a secret that drives them to seek redemption. They’re tempted by Robert Picardo’s charcter, the Shadow Man, who offers to help but may have some more sinister motive. As Robert Picardo says “Everything I say in unreliable.”
Heather Graham describes her character as a burlesque dancer with dreams of stardom and she’ll do anything it takes to get what she wants. In her words, “I’m not a very nice person.”
Neal McDonough didn’t reveal his character’s name, but the general trend of his character is to be as foul-mouthed as possible, which was a guilty pleasure for McDonough, who claims to be “a pretty straightforward guy” in his personal life.
Ron Perlman explains his involvement
“All I was really looking for was street cred a 65-year-old mother fucker playing a boxer.”
Tom Kane as Takeo, Fred Tatasciore as Nikolai, Steve Blum as Dempsey, and Nolan North as Richtofen are back as well so no worries for the original cast.
